PASCD 66th Annual Conference: Igniting Student Passion Through Technology, Reading, and Digital Literacy
Dear friends and colleagues,
The 2016 Conference Planning committee is very excited about this year’s conference. The theme is: “Igniting Student Passion Through Technology, Reading, and Digital Literacy” and will be held in King of Prussia on November 13 and 14, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. This beautiful location has easy access from all areas of the state situated right at a Turnpike exit and within about a hundred feet of the King of Prussia Mall.
We have an exciting line-up of 16 small group presenters along with our keynote speaker, Dr. L. Robert Furman, who will be opening and closing our conference with the theme of “Motivating the Reluctant Learner through Technology.” Dr. Furman will also be presenting hands-on action labs with the theme of “Back to the Future is not Mission Impossible for the Young and The Restless.”
Dr. L. Robert Furman ED.D. is the principal at South Park Elementary Center in South Park, Pennsylvania. He is the author of Instructional Technology Tools and Reading, Technology, and Digital Literacy. His research in the field of literacy was recently awarded the Best Research and Publication Award by PASCD. Rob is a blogger for the Huffington Post, and at Ed Tech Review. Rob was honored as a national "20 to watch" in educational technology by the National School Board Association.
The conference committee has worked very hard to listen to your recommendations with a shorter 1 and ½ day conference at a lower cost for you and less time out of your district. You can find out more about the conference by downloading our free conference app. Visit the link below on a mobile device to install the app. The free preview is available for a short time without registration!

What would a conference be without some time to relax and network with others? This year’s Sunday Night Social has something for everyone! The conference will kick off Sunday evening with dinner and our first general session from Dr. Furman and roll into a networking event with some games and fun provided by our conference sponsors. Check out the Conference App for additional information in the upcoming weeks!
Looking forward to seeing you at this year’s PASCD Conference,
Deanna Mayers, PASCD Conference Chair, and your 2016 Conference Planning Committee
