Equity and Access

Equity and Access co-chairs, Dr. Debra Cox and Dr. Barbara Miller    

The Equity and Access Committee is a fairly new committee. Dedicated committee members have met and discussed the possible direction and goals of this committee.  The following goals are a beginning to actions recommended by the Committee.

• Establish and communicate guidelines and parameters that support diverse groups of learners and community perspectives.
• Collaborate with EPLC and identified stakeholders to plan, develop, and adopt a policy statement regarding Educational Equity, Access, and Success for children in Commonwealth of PA.
• Communicate current issues regarding Equity and Access.
• Equity and Access committee will collaborate with PASCD Influence Committee to promote Equity and Access issues.
• Promote practical, operational, and appropriate cultural competency and diversity ideas useful to the classroom teacher.
